Read the steps

  • The Chain.

The first step to any shape is turning that clump into a chain. Starting with one or two speks, patiently pull a chain from your tangled mess.

  • The Tube.

Wrap your chain around your finger to create a tube. Ready for something neat? Pull it out back into a chain and repeat.

  • Interlocked.

Start by wrapping your chain around a ring of 6 speks and keep going. Eventually you’ll have a hexagonal sheet with interlocking speks.

  • Aligned.

Again, start with your chain and zig-zag them back and forth folding at the highlighted speks. The speks will be lined up side by side.

  • Quick Tip.

Speks not connecting in a chain? or fitting together interlocked instead of aligned? Flip them! Magnets are funny, but this will fix it most of the time!

  • 6 Sided Shape.

Start with a ring of 6 speks. Wrap the chain around the ring until there are 3 speks on each side. The speks will be interlocking.

  • Five Sided Shape.

Start with a ring of 5 speks. wrap the chain around the ring until there are 3 speks on each side. This shape will not be flat.

  • Four Sided Shape.

Start with a ring of 4 speks. Wrap the chain around the ring until there are 3 speks on each side. This shape will be even less flat!

  • The end.
